Rossington Architecture

The original 2 bedroom, 2 bath house was enlarged to 4 bedrooms and 3-1/2 baths. The ground floor was dug out and the building was extended into the rear yard, creating a new office, media room and guest bedroom. The middle level was extended and opened up, allowing for larger gatherings and better circulation, while the top floor consists of three bedrooms with bathrooms and laundry.

The front of the house was sacred in the eyes of the SF Planning Department. We cleaned it up, simplified some detailing and gave it a punch of color that makes it stand out on a rather bland block. The back of the house more closely reflects what is going on inside, with clean, modern detailing, a subtle change in stucco color and large glazing facing the southerly back yard.

The result is a simple, clean, white, bright house with warm accents that reflects the way we now live and allows a young family of four to live and work comfortably in the house they love.
