Rossington Architecture

The I. Magnin department store building in downtown Oakland is an icon of the City’s rich art deco heritage. The project consists of remodeling the building to include retail on the ground floor, underground parking and 41 lofts units including a new luxury penthouse level. The re-establishment of the building is an important part of Oakland’s downtown revitalization plan.

To optimize the floor plan of the building, a circular courtyard has been designed to provide natural light and ventilation for the inner units.
