An existing house in unincorporated Mill Valley received a mostly-exterior facelift, bringing life to a neglected home. The desire was to create a white, modern box with elements engaging and protruding from it. Along hose lines, an upper floor terrace was enclosed and a narrow stair was opened up and headroom created, along with an addition to the upper roofline allowing for a new bedroom to have proper head height. The black windows accentuate the clean white stucco and cementitious siding.
